RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD MEETING RECAP (02/16/2024)

(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board met for its regular monthly meeting in February last night in Olney. The Board : approved the financial report from January with a bill listing worth $580,385 : approved the $62,000 purchase of real estate at 207A North Lincoln Street in Olney : approved an amended school calendar : agreed that there will be student attendance within the District on Solar Eclipse Day, April 8th, 2024 : reviewed the latest statewide evaluation, soon to be viewable on the District website : recognized the FFA Agronomy Team of Kaitlin Kocher, Kylie Kocher, Evelyn Volk, and Natalie Zwilling for their recent First Place finish in State Competition : noted RCHS students Aiden Gomez & Emma Wells for participating in the 2024 Illinois Music Education Association All-State Ensembles : and in personnel matters – accepted resignations from Treva Meadows as Part-Time Food Service Staff Member, from Terry Puckett as RCMS 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach, from Matt McLaren as RCHS Assistant Football Coach, and from Hilary Cecil as RCMS Girls Track Co-Head Coach – hired Kira Matheny as Part-Time Food Service Staff Member and Gabrielle Lyell as a Paraprofessional – for the 2024-2025 School Year, hired Tori Gosnell and Grace Painter as Kindergarten Teachers and agreed to transfer Erin Hardy from 2nd Grade Teacher to RCES Librarian and Clare Workman from 1st Grade Teacher to Kindergarten Teacher and hired Hilary Cecil for the new school year as RCMS Boys Track Head Coach – also approved various RCHS Volunteer Coaches as well : the next regular monthly meeting for the Richland County School Board will be March 21st, 2024.
