OLNEY CITY COUNCIL MEETING RECAP (01/23/2024)

(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved a permit to sell merchandise in a City Park or Recreation Area for the Olney Downtown Market 2024 : approved the purchase of a used 2018 dump truck for just over $66,000 : approved an ordinance to authorize the execution of an undertaking in lieu of completion bond between the City of Olney and Doll Real Estate : approved a lease agreement between the City of Olney and the Olney Little League for use of the concession stand : approved agreements to use the Musgrove Baseball/Softball Park for travel tournaments : approved a lease agreement between the City of Olney and the Olney Little League : agreed to sell an old City of Olney salt spreader on govdeals.com : agreed to sell other used City of Olney equipment and scrap metal : approved a request from the Old Timers Bass Club for fishing tournaments on East Fork Lake : agreed to start a bank account for grant funds for the City’s Sanitary Sewer Relining Project : noted that the plans continue for work on the Elliott Street and East Street Bridges over the CSX railroad tracks : noted preliminary work continues on the City’s Downtown Enhancement Project which will involve sidewalk and lighting upgrades along Main Street and Whittle Avenue : and took no action after a closed session to discuss real property and personnel : the next regular meeting for the Olney City Council will be held on Monday, February 12th.
