(LOUISVILLE) The Clay County Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting a cover crop meeting this coming Thursday at the Clay County Farm Bureau Building in Louisville. Guest speaker John Pike will discuss the benefits of cover crops, seeding rates & mixes, termination strategies, and herbicide programs, plus other topics will be nitrogen management on-farm trials conducted in southern Illinois, along with nitrogen application in a cover crop system. Anyone can attend the free event with registration at 9:30 and the meeting running from 10:00 to 12:00 noon with lunch to follow. Seating is limited.
