(SPRINGFIELD) While there is no official Illinois Crop Progress Report again this week, due to the federal Government shutdown, here’s some regional harvest numbers from some area farmers in southeastern and south central Illinois. Farmers indicate the local and area soybean crop is complete with just a few double crop beans remaining. Meanwhile the local corn crop is nearly complete, at 95%. With some fall tillage and equipment cleanup, farmers and ag-related workers should still think “safety first” as work around the farm continues.
