(NEWTON/OLNEY) To help pay tribute to Veterans and honor their legacies and sacrifices, State Senator Jason Plummer and other lawmakers, are encouraging constituents to submit a photo and story of their loved one who served our nation so it can be displayed in the rotunda of the Illinois Capitol from November 11th through 25th next month, in honor of Veterans Day 2024. Families are asked to submit a military photo, if possible, and a written story with a maximum of 250 words, along with the Veteran’s name, military branch (Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, or Navy), and the conflict served (Afghanistan, Iraq, September 11th, Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, World War II, World War I, Peacetime, or other). Submissions should be emailed to veteransday@sgop.ilga.gov by November 8th, 2024, to be included in the Veterans Day Display at the Illinois State Capitol.
