(OLNEY/NEWTON) With an approaching cold front, our downstate area winds will return, much stronger than yesterday, plus we’ll have plenty of morning clouds, giving way to at least some sunshine later today. Our rain chances will grow tonight through tomorrow and especially Friday night through Saturday and into Easter Sunday. While most of the heavy rain stays to our north & northwest, anywhere from one to three inches of rain is possible for our region, and maybe some severe weather as well. The storm system clears out by Monday afternoon with warmer air expected next week. Stay tuned for forecast updates.
(LINCOLN) The National Weather Service still has hopes of getting NOAA Weather Radio Station KXI-48 in Newton back on the air this week. The weather station has been off the air for the past few months due to antenna failure, but repair work was set for this week.
