(OLNEY) in High School Cross Country from Saturday –
GIRLS
there were 11 teams at the Class 2A Regional at Olney Central College
Mahomet-Seymour won be beating our second place Mt. Zion, 39 to 64
Champaign Centennial held on to third place, edging out Olney, 98 to 103
Mattoon was fifth at 132, followed by Urbana (164) and Centralia (176)
then Effingham (202), Rantoul (239), Charleston (255), and Salem (276)
there were 76 total runners on the 3 mile course
Olney had two top ten runners – Bella Stevens and Josie Ginder were 7th and 8th
Mattoon’s Kaelyn Ryan was 5th and Centralia’s Aurora Amason was 10th
the top seven teams and top ten runners not on an advancing team move on to Sectional
other members for the Olney Lady Tigers advancing with the team include
Briley Kocher, Mallory Kocher, Karlee Piercefield, Kyleigh Cazel, and Lily Stevens
the Class 2A Sectional is Saturday, November 1st, at Lake Land College, south of Mattoon
BOYS
there were 11 teams at the Class 2A Regional at Olney Central College
Mahomet-Seymour won by beating out second place Urbana, 35 to 55
Mt. Zion was third with 96 points, followed by Charleston with 98 points
the Olney Tigers finished in fifth place at 129 points
then Mattoon (176), Danville (179), Rantoul (235),
Champaign Centennial (248), Effingham (251), and Centralia (311)
there were 75 total runners on the 3 miles course
Olney’s Quaid Berger was the regional champ finishing in 1st place overall
teammate and fellow sophomore Judah Dicks was in 4th place
Effingham’s Alex Gordan was 6th, Salem’s Hunter Malan was 7th,
Charleston’s Stanley Himes was 10th
the top seven teams and top ten runners not on an advancing team move on to Sectional
other members for the Olney Tigers also advancing with the team include
Landon Livingston, Austin Kuenstler, Nathaniel Zwilling, and Oliver Fehrenbacher

GIRLS
there were 8 teams at the Class 1A Regional at Lake Land College
Marshall won by beating second place Newton, 42 to 59
St. Anthony was third with 69 points, followed by Robinson in fourth place at 122
then Lawrenceville (127), Dieterich (128), Casey-Westfield (162), & Teutopolis (166)
other runners from Oblong, Neoga, Altamont, and Mt. Carmel
there were 57 total runners on the 3 mile course
Newton’s top runners were Layna Marshall in 6th place and Heather Bergbower was 9th
St. Anthony’s Isabella Keller and Aubrey Denning finished st and nd, back-to-back
Marshall’s Molly Farrell, Grace Thompson, & Madeline Fox were 3rd, 4th, and 5th
Dieterich’s Lena Goebel was 8th and Casey-Westfield’s Kayla Clark was 10th
Newton’s Avery Geier and Josie Vogt were 13th and 14th
the top seven teams and top five runners not on an advancing team move on to Sectional
other members for the Newton Lady Eagles also advancing with the team include
Nora Street, Kimberly Bierman, and Shay Bennett

BOYS
there were 11 teams at the Class 1A Regional at Lake Land College
Effingham St. Anthony won by slipping by second place Cumberland, 33 to 35
Dieterich was third with 121 points, followed by Newton in fourth place with 125 points
Robinson was fifth at 141, Teutopolis tied with Lawrenceville for sixth place (169)
then Casey-Westfield (185), Altamont (202), Oblong (245) and Clay City/Flora (272)
other runners from Marshall, Palestine-Hutsonville, and St. Joh’s Lutheran
there were 79 total runners on the 3 mile course
Cumberland’s Cameron Roedl won the race, followed by Dieterich’s Trevor Crutcher
St. Anthony’s Juluis Ramos and Camden Bloemer were 4th and 5th
Cumberland’s Colby Roedl was 3rd with Marshall’s Steven Hendrixson in 6th place
Newton’s top runners were Hayden Borgic in 19th place and Tanner Whitaker in 25th
the top seven teams and top five runners not on an advancing team move on to Sectional
other Newton Eagles also advancing with the team include
Holden Barthelemy, Johnnie Brant, Alec Bower,Kendall Probst, and Wade Ochs
