(NEWTON) A note to motorists today along Routes 40 and 33 in the counties of Effingham, Jasper, and Crawford, as those taking part in the Race Across America (RAAM) Bicycle Race will be moving through the area from west to east. Traveling the nearly 2,200 mile journey from California to New Jersey, the bikers will move through Effingham today on Route 40 from Vandalia, then move onto Route 33 where they will then travel to Dieterich and on through Newton and eventually Robinson before heading into Indiana. All motorists in the area are encouraged to be mindful of the RAAM bicycle riders move through our region.
