(OLNEY/NEWTON) Some downstate medical facilities, including hospitals and clinics, are warning patients about a number of Medicare scam calls which appear to originate from the facilities. However, the scammers are spoofing the phone numbers of these facilities in order to get personal and financial information, especially from the elderly. Folks should remember that Medicare never calls patients out of the blue, therefore if such a call is received, folks should hang up as soon as possible and contact their healthcare facility.
