The Orell Farley Foundation has awarded a total of $30,653.29 in grants to eleven organizations in Jasper County, supporting various local projects. Here’s the breakdown of the recipients:
- $7,870 to the NCHS Music Boosters for purchasing three much-needed instruments.
- $7,046 to the Sunrise Youth Soccer Program for a new backstop net.
- $5,835 to St. Thomas Catholic School for three ViewBoards.
- $2,965 to the Embarras River Basin Agency for a freezer to support the food pantry.
- $1,600 to the Jasper County CEO Program to assist with expenses for the 2024-2025 school year.
- $1,350 to the Jasper County Boys & Girls Park for six catcher’s sets.
- $1,000 to the Jasper County School District’s READ Program for new books.
- $950 to Newton Elementary School for t-shirts and supplies.
- $900 to Newton Elementary School for materials for the Strong Girls/Boys program.
- $637 to the Jasper County Farm Bureau Foundation for digital microscopes.
- $500 to Newton Elementary School for copies of the novel “Blood on the River.”
