COLLINSVILLE – The Richland County High School boys track team delivered a strong performance Saturday at the Collinsville Invitational, placing 4th overall in a field of 37 teams, many from larger Class 3A schools.
- The Tigers finished fourth with 56 points, just one point behind Belleville West at 57
 - Edwardsville won the event by beating out second place Cahokia, 103 to 65
 - East St. Louis rounded out the top five with 49 points
 - then Chatham Glenwood (45), Mascoutah (39), Triad (33), and Springfield (28)
 - others included Normal Community, Waterloo, East Moline, Belleville East,
 - Benton, Collinsville, Benton, Rochester, Granite City, O’Fallon, Civic Memorial,
 - Centralia, Maryville Christian, Highland, Springfield Southeast, Carbondale,
 - Freeburg, Alton Marquette, Decatur MacArthur, Quincy, & East Alton-Wood River
 
Top Individual Finishes for the Tigers:
- Long Jump:
- Rex Hallam – 1st place
- His jump ranks #1 in Class 2A and #2 overall in Illinois
 
 - Gavyn Cothern – 2nd place
- His jump ranks #3 in Class 2A and #4 overall in Illinois
 
 - Both athletes briefly held the RCHS school record during the event.

The Tigers totaled 13 top-ten finishes across 18 events, a remarkable achievement at such a competitive meet.
