The Olney City Council met in regular session, addressing key city matters and approvals.
Meeting Highlights:
- Financial & Administrative Approvals:
- Approved the payment of all bills as presented.
- Approved the yearly lease between the City of Olney and the Richland County Farm & Fair Association for use of Olney City Park.
- Community & Parks:
- Waived ball field use fees and the insurance requirement for an upcoming fundraiser.
- Amended the City’s Park Department budget to include a $1,500 donation for tree planting & maintenance.
- Approved a donation for parking lot improvements at Musgrove Park.
- Authorized the sale of three city-owned lots that have been cleaned up:

- 526 South Saratoga Street

- Approved a payment for Sanitary Sewer CIPP Lining Rehabilitation work.
- Licensing & Legal Matters:
- Approved two raffle licenses as requested.
- Personnel & Contracts:
- After a closed session, approved Health Insurance Premium Allocations for non-bargaining employees, with an average 4% cost increase.
- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Olney and the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council for a Drug Investigator position.
