(MT. VERNON) Justice David K. Overstreet and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the appointment Wesley A. Gozia of Clinton County as an At-Large Circuit Judge in the 4th Judicial Circuit, which includes Jasper, Effingham, Clay, Marion, Fayette, and four other counties to the northwest. The appointment of Mr. Gozia is effective next month, March 28th, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Douglas L. Jarman last month. Meanwhile, in the Second Judicial Circuit, which includes Richland, Crawford, Lawrence, Edwards, Wabash, Wayne, White, and five other counties to the south, Supreme Court Justice David Overstreet recently swore-in Brian Shinkle as the new Resident Circuit Judge in Edwards County. Judge Shinkle will fill that role until the next judicial election in 2026.
