(MT. VERNON) Justice David K. Overstreet and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the assignment of the Honorable Robert C. “R.C.” Bollinger to the Fifth District Appellate Court. Judge Bollinger is being assigned to fill a newly created vacancy with the assignment to be effective September 29th, 2025, continuing until further order of the Court. The Judge has mostly served the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Decatur and the Macon County area for the past several years. The downstate Fifth Appellate District hears cases across 48 counties in the southernmost part of Illinois, including Richland, Jasper, and most surrounding counties.
