NEW ACT REQUIRES VOTERS TO OPT-IN OR OUT TO MAIL IN VOTE

(OLNEY) Attention to all registered voters in Richland County. Illinois Public Act 102-15 and Illinois State Law requires each statewide County Clerk’s Office to notify each voter of their options and provide an application to sign up for Permanent Vote by Mail ballots. Richland County voters may also choose to opt out of all vote by mail options and continue to vote at the polls or in the County Clerk’s Offices. Plus, it’s very important the voters respond by returning the applications as soon as possible either by mail, in person, or by email in Richland County, at countyclerk@richlandcounty.illinois.gov. If any questions, call the Clerk’s Office in Olney at 618-392-3111, or stop the Courthouse Office, open weekdays from 8:00 to 4:00, Monday through Friday. Again, this is a state mandate. The over 10,000 letters to Richland County registered voters will be mailed out either today or tomorrow.
