NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE UPCOMING WEATHER SPOTTING TRAINING

(LINCOLN) The National Weather Service in Lincoln is continuing with several “weather spotter training” classes, all of which are free of charge and last about two hours time. Pre-registration is not required, but those attending are asked to show up a little early to sign in. Here’s a list of the downstate area classes available over the next several weeks :

  • Wednesday, March 27th, at Parkland College in Champaign, at 6:30 (tonight)
  • Thursday, March 28th, at the EIU Buzzard Hall Auditorium in Charleston, at 6:00
  • Tuesday, April 2nd, at the Vermilion County Administration Building in Danville, at 6:30
  • Wednesday, April 3rd, at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, at 6:00
  • Saturday, April 13th, a Virtual Session at 10:00am – go to weather.gov for details
  • Tuesday, April 16th, at Crawford County’s Church of Christ in Palestine, at 6:30
  • Thursday, April 18th, at the Taylorville Fire Department in Christian County, at 6:30
  • Monday, April 29th, at the Toledo Fire House in Cumberland County, at 6:00
