(LINCOLN) The National Weather Service in Lincoln is continuing with several “weather spotter training” classes, all of which are free of charge and last about two hours time. Pre-registration is not required, but those attending are asked to show up a little early to sign in. Here’s a list of the downstate area classes available over the next several weeks :
- Wednesday, March 27th, at Parkland College in Champaign, at 6:30 (tonight)
- Thursday, March 28th, at the EIU Buzzard Hall Auditorium in Charleston, at 6:00
- Tuesday, April 2nd, at the Vermilion County Administration Building in Danville, at 6:30
- Wednesday, April 3rd, at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, at 6:00
- Saturday, April 13th, a Virtual Session at 10:00am – go to weather.gov for details
- Tuesday, April 16th, at Crawford County’s Church of Christ in Palestine, at 6:30
- Thursday, April 18th, at the Taylorville Fire Department in Christian County, at 6:30
- Monday, April 29th, at the Toledo Fire House in Cumberland County, at 6:00
