LOCAL LEAF COLLECTION UNDERWAY

Fall Leaf Collection Programs for Noble, Newton, and Olney Residents

As fall settles in and the leaves begin to fall, area residents in Noble, Newton, and Olney are reminded of the upcoming leaf collection programs available in each community. Be sure to follow the specific guidelines for your area to ensure your leaves are collected properly.

Village of Noble

  • Leaf Collection Program: The Village of Noble’s leaf collection program is currently underway. To have your leaves picked up, simply call the Village Hall once your leaves are ready, and the collection crew will come by as soon as possible.
  • Important Reminder: Keep your leaves on the streets, but do not place them in the ditches.

City of Newton

  • Vacuum Leaf Pickup: The City of Newton’s Street Department is vacuuming leaves along city streets Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, continuing until the end of November and possibly into the first week of December if needed.
  • Where to Place Leaves: Make sure your leaves are placed on the roadside near the street, but not in the street where they could interfere with traffic.
  • What Will Be Collected: Only leaves will be vacuumed—please ensure there are no twigs, branches, or other debris mixed in.
  • Contact Information:
    • During Business Hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM): Call Newton City Hall at 783-8451.
    • After Hours: Leave a message with your address and phone number by calling the Street Department at 783-8511.
  • Yard Waste Facility: The City of Newton’s Yard Waste Facility is open every Saturday in November, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The facility is for Newton residents only and accepts grass, leaves, small limbs, and other yard/garden waste (no commercial dumping, no plastics, no paper products, no cardboard, no painted wood, and no root wads).

City of Olney

  • Leaf Collection Program: The City of Olney will begin its leaf collection program on November 12th. Crews will be collecting loose leaves along the streets.
  • Where to Place Leaves: Residents should place leaves as close to the roadway as possible, but do not put leaves in the streets or in ditches.
  • No Need to Call for Loose Leaf Pickup: Citizens do not need to call City Hall for loose leaf collection; the crews will be driving through the City to pick them up.
  • Bagged Leaf Pickup: If you prefer to bag your leaves, please place the bags near the roadway and contact City Hall when they are ready for pickup. Bagged leaf collection is the only service requiring a call-in.
  • Landscape Waste Facility: The Landscape Waste Facility is open for drop-off on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

For more detailed information and updates on each program, please visit the respective Village or City websites or contact your local offices. Let’s work together to keep our communities clean and beautiful this fall!
