(SPRINGFEILD) Five members of Illinois’ congressional delegation signed onto a letter last week, urging the U.S. EPA to put the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) back on track. In the bipartisan letter, about 30 lawmakers emphasized the important role that American biofuels can play in lowering energy costs while asking the EPA to eliminate decades-old regulatory barriers to growth so all retailers in all 50 states can offer E-15 year-round if they choose to do so. Illinois members who signed the letter included Republicans Mike Bost of Murphysboro and Darin LaHood of Dunlap, plus Democrats Nikki Budzinski of Springfield, Robin Kelly of Matteson, and Eric Sorensen of Moline.
