(NEWTON) The Jasper County School Board of Education had its regular monthly meeting for January this past Tuesday in Newton. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved the $147,431 purchase and installation of a greenhouse at NCHS from Greenhouse Masters : approved the District fuel bid for all Jasper County Schools : adopted several District policies as presented : set the 2024 NCHS graduation date for May 11th : approved the request for proposal for the installation of fiber at the Ste. Marie Elementary School : and in personnel matters – hired Meredith Blake as an After School Tutor for the 2023-2024 school year, hired Chad Farley as the new NCHS Varsity Boys Soccer Coach, and hired Ellie Burris as the Assistant NCHS Scholastic Bowl Coach : also noted two positions are available at the Elementary School for next school year : next meeting is February 20th.
