(NEWTON) A Burn Ban is once again in place for the City of Newton and for all parts of Jasper County until further notice. This includes all fire pits, burning trash barrels, brush piles, and fireworks. Firemen throughout Jasper and surrounding counties have been very busy over the past few days responding to grass and/or brush fires due to the strong winds and extremely dry ground conditions. So again, a Burn Ban is now officially in effect for the City of Newton and for all parts of Jasper County until further notice.
