JASPER COUNTY BOARD MEETING RECAP FROM LAST WEEK

(NEWTON) The Jasper County Board had its regular monthly meeting for December last week in Newton. The Board : approved the payment of all November bills as presented, worth $517,756 : agreed to install a new Panic Button System for all county departments and offices with the cost at $2,025 and a $28 monthly service fee – all emergencies will directly ring into the county dispatch : agreed to move all monthly meetings to the third Thursday in 2024 with the exception of the Board’s next regular meeting, which will be held January 11th, 2024 : approved a Grant Writing Services agreement with South Central Illinois Regional Planning : noted the recent Open House for the newly renovated Behavioral Health Office in Newton : heard an update on the County’s proposed website : heard in update Jasper County Health Department renovations : noted the 2024 Solid Waste Schedule is available : approved three reappointments – Marcia Street to the Jasper County Board of Health for a three year term – Larry Brooks and Doug Klier to the Jasper County Emergency 911 Board, both for three year terms : and took time to recognize the retirement of John Curtright after his 41 years of service to with the Jasper County Ambulance Service : the next regular meeting for the Jasper County Board will be January 11th, 2024 in Newton.
