JASPER COUNTY BOARD JULY MEETING RECAP

(NEWTON) The Jasper County had its regular monthly meeting for July last Thursday night in Newton. The Board : approved the payment of all June bills worth $297,237 : accepted the resignation from Board Member Adam Deckard – after careful consideration, Deckard was replaced by Jessica Schackmann who’ll fill the remainder of the District 1 Seat until the term expires on November 30th, 2024 : approved a Bridge Aid Petition for Wade Township : heard an update on the Jasper County/City of Newton website development work : agreed to submit the Energy Transition Community Year 2 Grant Phase 2 application : agreed to repair the Courthouse roof pending an air quality report for $9,020 : approved the updated list of Jasper County Election Judges : noted the next Electronic Recycling Collection event for Jasper County to be held Saturday, August 24th : reviewed reports from the Ambulance Department, Health Department, and other departments : reviewed the FY2023 Annual Audit as presented : and after a 37-minute closed session, agreed to destroy the Board’s Verbatim Closed Session Recordings prior to January 2023 : next meeting is August 15th.
