(NEWTON) The Indiana Rail Road (INRD) has announced the return of this year’s Santa Train stops this weekend, including three in Indiana tomorrow evening, five more stops in Indiana on Saturday, and the three regional stops in Illinois on Sunday. Children of all ages are invited to step aboard the stationary passenger cars to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. While waiting, visitors will be entertained by a lively cast of costumed characters, brought to life by volunteers, including railroaders and their families. The event is free and open to all ages, and in the spirit of giving, Santa’s elves will also be giving away coats, gloves, and hats to help children in need stay warm this winter. The Illinois stops this Sunday will be near the high school in Newton from 8:30 to 9:30 in the morning, followed by the stop in Oblong from 10:30 to 11:45, and the final stop in Palestine from 1:00 to 2:15.
