Newton lost at Effingham, 9-3 as the Hearts outhit the Eagles, 9 to 3. Max Meinhart, David Ferguson, and Gus Bierman had Newton’s hits. The 5-2 Eagles will host Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville today in Newton.
