(SPRINGFIELD) Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and 20 other state attorney’s general are asking a federal judge to halt President Donald Trump’s move to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. Saying the President is overstepping his power, the group is seeking a preliminary injunction to block the mass firing of half the agency’s workers, the end of special education services to other federal agencies, & the transfer of student loans.

(SPRINGFIELD) The debate over hemp-infused products continues at the State Capitol in Springfield. It was this past Tuesday that lawmakers discussed proposed regulation of hemp-derived intoxicating beverages in a State Senate Liquor Committee hearing. One bill would impose taxes on hemp manufacturers & distributors, and force hemp businesses to be regulated by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.The Cannabis Business Association says the proposal falls short of providing consumers the protections they deserve.

(SPRINGFEILD) Thousands of cans of Coca-Cola are being recalled in Illinois & Wisconsin. Nearly 900 12-packs of Original Taste Coca-Cola are being recalled due to contamination with a foreign object. The cans come from a bottling plant in Milwaukee. The past Monday, the Food & Drug Administration reclassified the recall as Class II (2), which is its second highest risk classification. (SPRINGFIELD) The 2025 Youth Spring Turkey Hunting Season is the next two weekends. Running each day this Saturday & Sunday, March 29th and 30th, from a half hour before sunrise to 1:00 each afternoon. The final two days are next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 5th and 6th. Each youth hunter must have a current valid Youth Hunt permit and a valid hunting license. The Youth Hunt is for those who have not reached their 18th birthday before the first day of the hunt. Each hunter must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult.
