(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Capitol was placed on lockdown by authorities after a threat was made yesterday afternoon. Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias says that his office received notice of a threat involving the State Capitol. Out of an abundance of caution, the Secretary of State Police quickly issued the lockdown and conducted a widespread sweep of the building. With nothing found, the all-clear was given by 3:00.

(SPRINGFIELD) A Springfield woman has pleaded guilty to wire fraud in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars from the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation. The prosecutors say that LeAnn Shirley, who was employed as the foundation treasurer, devised a scheme to defraud the foundation by moving nearly $80,000 from its account to another secret account located out in Vermont. The Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation is a charity committed to preserving the history of the Illinois State Police.

(SPRINGFIELD) The Wyndham Hotel in Springfield may be changing hands soon. The 30 story circular building will go up for an online auction next month in April. The structure was built in the 1970s and most recently was rezoned for half the rooms to become apartments. The online listing shows a starting bid of at least $3 million.

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Fair has announced that the Jonas Brothers will be on the performance list, set for Thursday night, August 15th. With album sales over 20 million and counting, plus 26 Billboard Hot 100 hits, the trio recently claimed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Tickets for the Jonas Brothers concert will go on sale at 10:00 this Saturday morning. Meanwhile, tickets for other announced show continue to be on sale, including Keith Urban, Motley Crue, and Jordan Davis. Go online at TicketMaster.com.
