(SPRINGFIELD) Former President Donald Trump will be included on the primary ballot in the Land of Lincoln. The bipartisan Illinois State Board of Elections voted unanimously yesterday to reject a recommendation from a hearing officer to eliminate Donald Trump from the ballot. Although the decision can be appealed in state courts, it is unlikely. The primary election in Illinois is March 19th, followed by the general election November 5th.

(SPRINGFIELD) Nearly $55 million in taxpayer-funded state grants are being awarded for 111 local park projects throughout Illinois. Established back in 1986, the Open Spaces Land Acquisition & Development program is a cost-sharing venture between state and local governments that helps communities fund land purchases and development for parks and outdoor recreation projects.

(PEORIA) Communities along the Illinois River are bracing for possible flooding in the coming days there in the northwestern Illinois region. The recent warmer-than-normal weather has caused the melting of ice jams, plus widespread rainfall amounts higher than normal in January are teaming up to cause the flooding. In fact, flooding is an issued at many other sites around the state, including south central and southeastern Illinois.

(SPRINGFIELD) Grammy award-winning artist Jason Isbell and his band 400 Unit have been added to the Illinois State Fair Grandstand lineup for this summer. Their performance is scheduled for Sunday, August 11th, with special guest Ashley McBride. Tickets for the show go on sale this Saturday, February 3rd on the Ticketmaster.com website. The Illinois State Fair will run August 8th through the 18th later this summer in Springfield.
