IECC BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING RECAP (04/18/2024)

(OLNEY) The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board of Trustees met for its April monthly meeting this past Tuesday night at Olney Central College. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : administered the oath of office to Jorri VanDyke of Olney as the next student member of the Board of Trustees – the first year student at OCC will serve a one-year term : accepted the offer to sell a parcel of land along State Route 130 in Richland County : accepted various bids as recommended – $148,500 from Homes By Schuetz to construct a storage building for the Olney Central College Theater – $86,073 from Accu-Tech to purchase copper wire for Lincoln Trail College – $79,750 from Walters Builders to construct a Rotary Plaza Pavilion at Frontier Community College – $32,800 from Bahrns Toyota-Lift to purchase a forklift for Frontier Community College – & $31,187 from Eagleson Automotive Center to purchase a new Chevrolet Bolt EV for Frontier Community College : adopted a Student Attendance Policy establishing a clear framework for both students and faculty in dealing with IECC sports practices : heard a report on efforts & activities dealing with the IECC Student Affairs Division : and in personnel – approved employment status changes for Kristie Markman from TRIO Student Support Specialist to TRIO Upward Bound Counselor at Olney Central College and from Maintenance Worker to O&M Team Lead for Arron Brown at the Terry L. Bruce West Richland Center in Noble, Ernest Majors at Wabash Valley College, Kent Staley at Frontier Community College, and Christopher Ellington at Lincoln Trail College – and hired Amy Drake as TRIO Upward Bound Counselor at Lincoln Trail College, Jade Colclasure as TRIO Upward Bound Counselor at Wabash Valley College, and Dan Brant as O&M Team Lead at Olney Central College : the next regular monthly meeting for the IECC Board of Trustees is Tuesday, May 21st, at 6:15, at WVC in Mt. Carmel.
