FEBRUARY 2025 ILLINOIS CROP PROGRESS REPORT

(SPRINGFIELD) In this month’s USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report, the statewide average temperature was 29.1 degrees in February, just over 1 (1.1) degree below normal. The state’s average precipitation was an inch and fourteen-hundredths (1.14) in February, which was seventy-nine hundredths of an inch (0.79) below normal. As of this past Sunday, the state’s topsoil moisture supply was 23% short to very short, 58% adequate, and 19% surplus. The subsoil moisture supply was 33% short to very short, 52% adequate, and 15% surplus. The winter wheat condition was 5% poor to very poor, 39% fair, 52% good, and 4% excellent.
