(LOUISVILLE) The Clay County Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting a cover crop meeting next week on Thursday, February 22nd, at the Clay County Farm Bureau Building in Louisville. Guest speaker John Pike will discuss the benefits of cover crops, seeding rates & mixes, termination strategies, and herbicide programs, plus other topics will be nitrogen management on-farm trials conducted in southern Illinois, along with nitrogen application in a cover crop system. Anyone can attend the free event with registration at 9:30 and the meeting running from 10:00 to 12:00 noon with lunch to follow. Seating is limited.
