(NEWTON) The City of Newton has announced that the next step in the South Van Buren water main project will take place tomorrow, on Tuesday, August 27th, when the water service will be turned off in the following locations so current water lines can be tied into the main water line. Running tomorrow, from 7:00am until 5:00pm, affected with the water shut off will be water customers along South Van Buren Street, from Homewood Grill Newton to Henry Street, however with the exception of Homewood Grill Newton Branch, the apartments at 300 South Van Buren, Crain Funeral Home, Newton Christian Church, 400 South Van Buren, and Newton Elementary School. Also affected will be Martin Street, from South Van Buren to Liberty Avenue. If something prevents the tie-in tomorrow on Tuesday, thte backup date will be this Wednesday, also from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The City of Newton appreciates the patience of all during this important infrastructure work.
