(OLNEY) It’s a full list of activities coming up over the next several days and nights in Richland County. The lighting of the Christmas Tree in Olney’s Bower Park is this evening at 5:30. There will be hot cocoa and cookies provided for those in attendance. Then tomorrow evening, on Thanksgiving Day evening, this year’s edition of the Olney Christmas Lights Display will be lit up for the first time in 2025 and be lit each night at dusk thereafter through New Year’s Eve. Then it’s Plaid Friday coming up with special shopping available in downtown Olney, followed by the 2025 Olney Christmas Parade, scheduled to start at 6:00 Saturday evening, with a rain date for the following evening, on Sunday, if needed. Visitors planning to watch the Christmas Parade are reminded of temporary limited parking along the parade route this weekend.
(NEWTON) It’s also the time of year to visit the Christmas Lights Display in Newton’s Peterson Park, which will be open for public viewing each night from 5:00 to 10:00. That’s starting this Friday night and running through January 4th, 2026. A huge “thank you” to all the volunteers and City employees for a job well done. Check the Display’s Facebook page for updates.
