(PARIS) In Boys High School Tennis from last Friday –
The Little Illini Conference Tournament was hosted by Paris High School, the Olney Tigers won their fourth straight LIC Tournament Title.
- Olney easily beat out second place Paris, 28.5 to 16.5
- Robinson was third with 16 points and Casey-Westfield was fourth at 9
- Newton finished fifth at 7 points followed by Mt. Carmel with no (0) points
Here’s how the champs from Olney did in the matches.
SINGLES
- Aidan Weidner was the singles champion by winning all three of his matches
- Luke Harris tied for fifth place in singles, winning two of his last three matches
DOUBLES
- Carter Seaman and Marcus Kocher won the doubles title with three match wins
- Aaron Klingler and Isaac Klingler were second in doubles with two out of three wins
As a result, five Tigers were named to the All LIC Conference First Team
- Aidan Weidner, Carter Seaman, Marcus Kocher, Aaron Klingler, & Isaac Klingler
Other players recognized at the LIC Conference Tournament
- Newton’s Issac Street was second in singles and named to the All Conference First Team
Three Robinson players were named to the All Conference Second Team
- Owen Schmidt, Eli Rosborough, and Aiden Elder
Three Paris players received Honorable Mentions
- Drake Bartos, Marcus Mitchell, and Robert Wells
