(NEWTON) At the Lawrenceville/Red Hill Invitational on Saturday, featuring six schools:
- Newton finished in second place behind the host Indians, with a team score of 315 to Lawrenceville/Red Hill’s 307.
- Edwards County took third with a score of 323, followed by Fairfield in fourth at 331.
- Flora placed fifth with a 335, and Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville rounded out the field with a 348.
Individual highlights from the event:
- Lawrenceville/Red Hill’s Carter Davis was the Match Medalist with a low round of 72.
- Newton’s Jackson James finished second with a 76, four strokes behind Davis.
- Michael Kennedy of Newton placed 7th with a score of 79.
- Evan Johnson, also for the Eagles, secured 9th place with an 80.
- Gunner James finished 10th, also shooting an 80.
The Eagles were back in action yesterday at Casey.
