(OLNEY) The City of Olney Water Department will be switching the disinfectant in the city’s water distribution system from free chlorine back to the normal chloramine this coming Monday, April 20th. The free chlorine has been used over the past few weeks in conjunction with the city’s biannual hydrant flushing and the city’s water maintenance program. Water customers may notice a change in the taste of the water until all the free chlorine is out of the lines.
