(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Police welcomed 21 new State Troopers this past Friday from Cadet Class 151 at a graduation ceremony at the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield. The lateral entry academy class, made up of certified police officers who previously graduated from an accredited law enforcement academy and had at least two years of experience while employed as full-time officers, completed the 11-week State Police program, plus also took part in a 14-week field training program as well. The new State Troopers reported to seven ISP Troop locations throughout the state yesterday. While 11 new Troopers reported to sites in upstate Illinois, the others included 5 to Troop 8 based in Collinsville, 3 to Troop 10 based in Du Quoin, and 2 to Troop 7 based in Pesotum.
