(OLNEY/NEWTON) While the weekend weather was rather mild and dry for yesterday and Saturday, all after a rainy and cool Friday, the first three days of the 2025 firearm deer hunting season were not as productive as anticipated. According to initial reports, the expected harvest numbers were lower than expected in nearly all Illinois counties, although the preliminary stats from the State DNR will not be released for a couple of weeks. The final four days of the season are less than two weeks away, on Thursday through Sunday, December 4th through 7th.
