(OLNEY) The Richland County Board had its regular monthly meeting for September last night in Olney. The Board approved the payment of all bills for August – $87,885 in county claims and $375,324 in non-county claims : approved pay estimate #5 for the EJ Water Phase #82 project, worth $44,498 : approved change order #3 for the EJ Water Phase #82 project, worth $31,394 : heard in the Sheriff’s report that the county-wide radio communications project has started with infrastructure work underway : heard in the State’s Attorney’s report that the office is processing fifty (50) more cases than a year ago : agreed to award a contract for construction of a Denver Township Bridge project to C-Hill Civil Contractors of Campbell Hill, Illinois : approved a County Cannabis Retailers’ Occupation Tax Ordinance, which is neither in favor of or against a cannabis dispensing facility in Richland County, but simply says the Richland County coffers will get a share of any tax money should a facility be built and put into operation : approved the appointment of Jon Racklin to the Richland County TB Board : heard other county reports and updates : and adjourned after a closed session to discuss real estate and negotiations : the Richland County Board’s next regular monthly meeting is October 9th, 2025.
