(NEWTON) The 2025 Jasper County Fair Queen Pageant will have a fundraising Tea Party & Beauty Time” event for area girls, ages 4 to 12, this coming Sunday afternoon at the West End Reception & Events in Newton, from 2:00 to 4:00. The cost is $25 per youngster, with hair tinsel and nail polish for each young girl. Plus refreshments will include cookies, tea, and lemonade. All proceeds to help fund the Fair Queen Pageant slated for June 22nd, 2025.
(OLNEY) The White Squirrel Saddle Club will have its first of seven Western Horse Shows in 2025, coming up this Sunday afternoon, at the outdoor arena, just north of East Fork Lake Damn, north of Olney, starting at 1:00. (NEWTON) The Newton American Legion Post 20 will host a Sunday Brunch Buffet this coming weekend with all-you-can-eat serving from 10:00 until 1:00, including several hot bar items, a salad bar, and more. The cost is $15.00 for adults and $6.00 for kids ages 4 to 10. That’s this Sunday and every other Sunday at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton.
(OLNEY) The Olney Central College Music Department will present its Spring Musical Theater Showcase at 7:00 tomorrow night in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center, on Ruth Henry Stage. While admission is free, donations will be accepted at the door to support the Music Department at OCC. All ages are welcome out to attend.
(OLNEY) The “Cruise-In” scheduled for this coming Friday night in the Olney City Park has now been rescheduled due to the anticipation of rain. The “Cruise-In” will now be held Saturday night, from 6:00 to 9:00, at the Olney Rural King parking lot. Still with a food truck and live entertainment, all vehicles and spectators are welcome to check it out.

(NEWTON) The 2nd Annual Barstool Golf fundraiser is tomorrow in Jasper County with ten local businesses taking part, starting with registration of four person teams from 10:00 to 11:00 Saturday morning at the Newton American Legion, then with all score cards turned in from 5:00 to 6:00 Saturday evening at the Legion and the winners to be announced after 6:00. Registration forms are available at all of the businesses taking part, including The Hill, the American Legion, Newton VFW, KC Hall in Newton, Muddy Saloon, Park Lanes, BJ’s Saloon, MVP Happy Holler, Hi Benders, and the Sky Saloon. All proceeds to support the Jasper County Shriners who in turn will help Jasper County families and children in need.
