(SPRINGFIELD) In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, the Illinois Attorney General’s office has released the Top 10 consumer complaints that it has received last year. For the fourth year in a row, complaints related to home repairs and remodeling topped the list, while identity theft complaints remained second. Following consumer deft in third place was motor vehicle & used auto sales. Then promotion and phone scams, followed by internet & mail order scams, telecommunications, motor vehicle non-warranty repair, government agencies, and new car sales. (SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Treasurer’s office marked Casimir Pulaski Day yesterday by announcing it has purchased $15 million in Republic of Poland Financial Bonds. Noted and celebrated worldwide for his efforts in organizing an American cavalry unit during the Revolutionary War, Pulaski helped win several battles before dying from combat injuries in 1779. It’s the first time that the State of Illinois has invested in the Republic of Poland.
(COLLINSVILLE) Ameren Illinois is scheduled to replace a decades-old pipeline in the Metro East area in order to meet federal safety standards. The work involves a nearly three mile stretch of road in Collinsville and is expected to impact area traffic. It’s a part of a multi-year plan by Ameren to bring all natural gas transmission pipelines into compliance with federal transportation guidelines. The work should to be completed by September.

It’s country music singer Gabby Barrett set to hit the stage on Monday night, Labor Day Night, September 1st. Barrett joins fellow country music artist Jake Owen and the rock group “Tesla” on the Grandstand Lineup card for the 2025 Du Quoin State Fair, which runs August 22nd thru September 1st.
