USDA ILLINOIS AG PRICE REPORT FOR JANUARY 2025

(SPRINGFIELD) In last week’s USDA Illinois Agricultural Price Report for January : the Ag Production Index increased 2.1% from December and was up 16% from January 2024 : the Crop Production Index dropped 4.4% from December and was down 9.5% from the previous year : the Livestock Production Index was up 9.4% from December & increased a whopping 38% from January last year : producers received higher prices during January for market eggs, cattle, milk, and broilers, but lower prices for tomatoes, lettuce, and cauliflower. In addition to prices, there was increased monthly movement for soybeans, cattle, corn, and strawberries in January, and decreased marketing of market eggs, grapes, hogs, and cotton.
