BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL WEEKEND RECAP

Class S State Tournament – First Round Results (Saturday):

  • Olney St. Joe lost a tough game to Cairo, 56-61.
    • Ian Kocher led the Wildcats with 21 points, and Mattux Hart added 13 points.
    • Leo Hallam scored 10 points, Greyson Sterchi had 7 points, and Levi Rudolphi contributed 5 points.
    • The Wildcats finish their season as Regional Champions with an overall record of 17-6.

Other first round results:

  • Opdyke-Belle Rive beat Rome/Dix, 41-27
  • Good Shepherd Lutheran/Collinsville defeated Desoto, 58-32
  • Pinckneyville 204 beat Patoka, 47-37
  • Germantown defeated Cypress-Buncombe, 53-31
  • St. John Neumann/Maryville beat Marissa, 45-37
  • Thompsonville triumphed over Cisne, 42-34
  • Valmeyer defeated Waltonville, 31-28

The quarter-final games will be held tonight at Rend Lake College.


Class M State Tournament – Quarter-Final Results (Friday):

  • Joseph Arthur/O’Fallon beat Wayne City, 48-43
  • Nashville defeated Goreville, 53-33
  • Smithton won against Shiloh, 59-45
  • NCOE beat Pinckneyville, 80-45

The semi-final games will be held tomorrow night at Rend Lake College.


Class L Regionals – Last Week:

  • Flora defeated Mt. Carmel, 65-20 (at Flora)
  • Centralia beat Salem, 63-31 (at Salem)

The Class L State Tournament will begin with quarter-final action this Saturday.
