‘ILLINOIS GROWN PRODUCT’ LABEL NOW AVAILABLE TO AREA FARMERS

(SPRINGFEILD) The Illinois products branding program is relaunching with a new label. Officially announced by the Illinois Department of Agriculture at a recent conference, the voluntary food label, Illinois Grown Product, will support products with at least one ingredient grown in Illinois. Qualifying producers can choose to display the logo on their farms, at their businesses, or more as the label will help consumers know that they are buying products grown in Illinois. A Food MarketMaker’s online platform will help get the word out with details and local food directories. For more, logon at agr.illinois.gov.
