(OLNEY) This past month of January 2025 was one of the coldest on average over the past several years in Richland County and surrounding counties. Looking at the numbers from our WVLN-WSEI National Weather Service Weather Station, at the south edge of Olney, our average high temperature was 33 degrees last month while the average daily low in January was 15.7 degrees. Our NWS Weather Station’s highest reading last month was 52 degrees on January 29th and our lowest temperature bottomed out at 2 below zero on the morning of January 15th. We had six straight days with lows in the single digits, our precipitation totaled two inches and four-hundredths in liquid, which included a total of 12.4 inches of snow and thirteen straight days of snow-cover from January 5th through the 18th.
