Boys Junior High Basketball Recap – November 4th

Olney St. Joe claimed victory in the one-night, three-game 8th Grade Tournament at Dieterich last night.
- St. Joe started strong with a 43-27 win over Newton St. Thomas.
- Leo Hallam led the Wildcats with 17 points, and Mattux Hart added 13 points.
- In their second game, St. Joe defeated Dieterich44-17.
- Mattux Hart scored 12 points, and Leo Hallam contributed 11 points.
- In the other tournament game, Newton St. Thomas beat Dieterich 31-18.
Next up for St. Joe: The Wildcats are set to host Albion this Friday in Olney.

Newton Jasper County swept both games against Oblong last night.
- Varsity (8th Grade):
- The Junior Eagles (1-0) edged out Oblong 33-29.
- Hank Huber was the top rebounder, and Chase Kistner was the top defender.
- Individual scoring was not available.
- Junior Varsity (7th Grade):
- The Jasper County Eagles (1-0) cruised to a 44-16 win.
- Maverik Horner led the scoring with 13 points, while Trace Cornwell was the top rebounder and Jacob Guzman was the top defender.
Next up for the Junior Eagles: They will play at Altamont tonight.

- Altamont (8th) beat Neoga 45-42 in an overtime thriller.
- Neoga (7th) defeated Altamont 34-30.
- North Clay (8th) dominated Clay City 63-35.
