(NEWTON) In IESA Regional Championship action yesterday, here are some downstate area results:
CLASS 3A:
- @ Charleston: Effingham defeated Newton/Jasper County, 7-3 (ending the year at 15-5).
- @ Buffalo: Mt. Zion beat Buffalo Tri-City, 10-2.
- @ Jerseyville: Chatham Glenwood triumphed over Taylorville, 16-2.
CLASS 2A:
- @ St. Elmo: St. Elmo edged out Pana, 5-4.
- @ Casey: Paris Mayo won against Robinson, 2-1.
- @ Teutopolis: Toledo Cumberland defeated Windsor, 10-4.
CLASS 1A:
- @ Hutsonville: Dieterich narrowly beat Albion, 1-0.
- @ Sigel: South Central overcame Neoga, 5-2.
- @ Nokomis: Central A&M defeated Ramsey, 9-5.
