ENERGY, BIOFEUL AND AG GROUPS STILL FIGHTING “EV POLICIES”

(SPRINGFIELD) As we reported in days past, a coalition of energy, biofuel, and agriculture groups, including the Illinois Corn Growers Association, are taking their challenge of the U.S. EPA’s emissions mandate to the nation’s highest court. The petition is challenging the EPA’s ruling to grant a waiver to California for its 2021-2025 electric vehicle mandate as Illinois lawmakers have and will likely continue to consider adopting California’s strict EV policies. The petition is asking the nation’s High Court to throw out an appeals court ruling that rejected legal arguments by seventeen (17) states over California’s EV mandate. The states and others filing the lawsuit are arguing that the EPA action violated their sovereign rights to set their own standards or to simply adhere to no such standards at all.
