(OLNEY) There’s a winner every weekend at the Olney VFW with its next Queen of Hearts drawing, all open to the public, at 4:00 this Sunday afternoon. Following a $20 winner this past weekend who was present for the drawing, the top jackpot now sits at $2,866 if the winner is present, or half that amount if not present, plus smaller possible card winners as well. Tickets are on sale up until 3:30 Sunday. Stop by for tickets at the Olney VFW on North Walnut Street or call 392-4226. A huge “thank you” to all who took part in the first-ever Cornhole Tournament this past Saturday at the Olney VFW. Another is slated for April 27th.

(OLNEY) The Rowcroppers 4-H Club in Richland County has a pork burger and baked goods fundraiser coming up this Saturday at the Rural King Store in Olney, with serving from 10:00 until 1:00, or until sold out. The menu will include pork burgers, chips, drinks, and the various homemade baked goodies. Proceeds to help with club activities and programs.
(NEWTON) The Sons of Newton American Legion Post 20 will have a pork barbeque “drive thru” this coming Saturday at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton. With serving from 10:30 in the morning until it’s all gone, it’s pulled pork sandwiches with chips for $6.00, pulled pork nachos for $7.00, or bulk pulled pork for $12.00 a pound, all provided by Mess-In-A Round BBQ. Proceeds go to the Kid’s BBQ Contest during the Legion’s “Smoke Off” in August.
(OLNEY) The Olney Masonic Lodge #140 will have a “pancake & sausage” breakfast this Saturday morning with serving from 7:00 to 11:00 at the Olney VFW, at 205 North Walnut Street, right north of the Courthouse, in Olney. Either dine in or carry out, all-you-can-eat, with tickets at the door. $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 10. All are invited.
(OLNEY) The Olney Knights of Columbus will have another Friday night “Fish Fry” this weekend at the Olney City Park Community Building, with serving from 5:00 to 7:00, or until sold out. Open to the public, tickets at the door will be $12.00 per adult and $8.00 for children ages 12 and under. Either dine in or carry out at the Olney City Park Community Building. The proceeds from this final fish fry will go to benefit the Olney Valor Quiltors.
(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton with tickets on sale up until draw time and a jackpot at $5,385. The Queen’s Menu this week is a choice of fried oysters, fish sandwich, or pork burger, all with fries, for $7 each, and serving at 5:00. Either dine in or carry out at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton. The Chamber’s 3rd Annual Art Show will be upstairs from 5:00 to 8:00.
(OLNEY) The Claremont-Bonpas Fire Department and Village of Claremont will continue their Friday “Fish Frys” this weekend, with all meals served at the Firehouse in Claremont. The lunchtime serving is from 11:30 to 2:00 at $10.00 per adult and either dine in or carry out. Then it’s a dinner buffet in the evening with serving from 4:00 to 7:00, priced at $15.00 per adult, $10.00 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children age 5 and under. Plus a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds to support the Fire Department and Claremont Village Park project.
