(OLNEY/NEWTON) The spring Archery and Shotgun Turkey Hunting Season has started. While the first of five hunting segments in the South Zone started this past Monday & ends tomorrow, the second segment is this Saturday to next Thursday, the 12th thru the 17th. Segment one in the North Zone is Monday thru Friday next week, April 14th thru the 18th. The DNR’s South Zone includes the area counties of Jasper, Richland, Crawford, Lawrence, Wabash, Edwards, Wayne, Clay, Effingham, Marion, & others to the south. The North Zone includes Cumberland, Clark, Coles, Shelby, Christian, Montgomery, & others to the north. Turkey hunting in all areas is a half hour before sunrise to 1:00 each day in each zone.
